UntitledWhile most of us are still waiting for the release of Hyrule Warriors, those in Japan are already able to hack their way through the hoards of minions that stand between them and their goal. Although it hasn’t been long since it’s Japanese release an update is already scheduled to launch on the 1st of September.

Take the jump to find what it will add!

There are three things that the update will add. First of all it will add an 8-bit sword and shield to Link’s arsenal which have been modelled after the sword and shield you obtain at the start of The Legend of Zelda.

Sword

Second is a new Challenge Mode which is speculated to have various scenarios which must be completed one after another within a time limit, similar to the Boss Challenge in Ocarina of Time 3D.

Challenge

I can’t read Japanese but I’m guessing the challenge pictured is having five minutes to kill 500 enemies which, given what we’ve seen of Hyrule Warriors so far, should be too much of a problem.

Finally there will be more options regarding the background music allowing players to set which tracks play on each stage as well as a music gallery.

So far there hasn’t been any indication whether these updates will be incorporated into the games when they are released outside Japan or if updates will be provided soon after its release in each region. I don’t mind which, I just hope it doesn’t end up being a Japan only update.

What do you think of this update? Has it made you look forward to the game even more? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
