Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition Coming to Nintendo Switch on September 6th

Earlier today, Nintendo streamed the Summer 2018 Nindies Showcase, shining a spotlight on all the indie titles coming soon to the Nintendo Switch. Among the impressive collection of games, the company announced that the action/adventure title Hyper Light Drifter will release on the Switch next week. The Switch version of Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition is available for pre-purchase right now, with the release scheduled for September 6th.
As shown in today’s Nindy Showcase, Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition will feature content exclusive to the Nintendo Switch:
“In the Nintendo Switch version of this critically acclaimed action/adventure game, players can equip an exclusive outfit that will help them locate hidden items. The Special Edition also includes new weapons like the Crystal Shot and deadly Blade Caster. Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition is available for pre-purchase today, and launches for Nintendo Switch on Sept. 6.”
Heavily inspired by 16-bit classics like A Link to the Past, Hyper Light Drifter was initially released in 2016 to critical and commercial acclaim. We recently covered the game as part of our “Inspired By Zelda” series, in which we highlighted the games gorgeous visuals, satisfying gameplay, and thought-provoking story.
