YouTuber Cuccolover has launched a brand new teaser trailer for the Hero of Time Saga. While the saga is based heavily on the events in Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, there will be variations to the story as it will be taking place from Link’s perspective. But wait, don’t the games do that? According to Cuccolover’s Patreon page, a key difference will be seeing the psychological effects of his adventure on Link himself, something that isn’t wholly present in the games. The goal still seems to be for Link to be silent, so instead of talking he has created a new secondary companion character that focuses more on Link’s emotions since the traditional two fairy companions don’t already accomplish this goal.

Those that fear this project may get Nintendo to shut it down need not worry, because generally these drastic differences in going through a game act more like fanfiction, even if they work within the given story. Nintendo is pretty hands off on this sort of work, really only focusing on work that recreates something they already did with very minimal changes. This isn’t doing that, as it’s exploring something not actually found in the games. Cuccolover plans to create the whole thing in flash and the teaser trailer does a pretty good job in terms of the presentation. Of course, we can probably glean this project is being worked on by someone fairly young given the copious amount of obvious grammar and spelling errors in the video and the Patreon page, but that shouldn’t be discouraging in the least bit. To start so young with such an ambitious project is always a joy to watch unfold.

Cuccolover is looking for some addition volunteer help for language translating and other stuff. The contact info is towards the end of the video with some additional details.
