GameStop Oracle of Seasons download code for A Link Between Worlds

Some of you may recall a rumor spreading about Oracle of Seasons being included as a pre-order bonus with A Link Between Worlds. Those who pre-order from GameStop will receive a download code to get the game from the Nintendo eShop. It is officially confirmed by Nintendo that the rumor is true. At this time, it has been revealed to be a GameStop exclusive only.

I still find this to be a very odd bonus. Many people including myself have already downloaded Oracle of Seasons when it was first available. The fact that there isn’t even a choice between Oracle of Seasons or Oracle of Ages seems sort of strange as well. Maybe Oracle of Seasons has some story element relating to A Link Between Worlds? I think it would have made much more sense to release A Link to the Past as a pre-order bonus just so fans can be refreshed on the prequel before the release of the sequel. What do you think of this?
