YouTuber VortexxyGaming is a budding theorist, with over a dozen theories about various aspects of the Zelda Kingdom – from Temples and Characters all the way to specific locations – she theorizes about their origins and how they may connect between different games. My only regret is that we didn’t find out about her sooner, but it’s highly possible we’ll be sharing many of her theories over the course of this year. Today, we’re going to share with you her Snowpeak Ruins theory.

This theory is an attempt to explain the origins of the mansion we explore inhabited by the Yeti in Twilight Princess. She believes the Yeti were not the original inhabitants and that Ashei, who was raised in Snowpeak by her own admission, may have a direct connection through her ancestry to the original inhabitants of the ruins. She also theorizes how Snowpeak itself and the location of the fortress/mansion may have indeed been present in Ocarina of Time – just not snowed over yet and inaccessible at that time to the player. She feels this location played a key role in a war between the Zora and the Gerudo during a time when the Hyrulueans may have made peace with the Zoras after their own struggles during the Hyrulean war.

There is a lot of great information here and her theory has a decent amount of evidence and support. Though the connection is speculative on all accounts, it’s interesting diving into the history of Hyrule and trying to find out just what exactly happened.
