The Zelda series is full of charm and color, with so many staples unique to the series that stand out. The music alone is to die for, the art style is engaging and immersive, and the stories and characters are fun and quirky. There are a lot of components that concoct a perfect Zelda recipe but which ingredient is your favorite?

Shigeru Miyamoto built the whole concept of Zelda off his childhood expeditions, creating the original game as a backwoods adventure simulator of sorts, one which I think most Zelda fans would agree the game succeeded in doing. Ever since then, each game has attempted to capture that spirit of adventure with its own unique voice.

I remember as a kid getting to the Gerudo Desert in Ocarina of Time. I was amazed by the new and refreshing desert environment; the tall dusty canyon walls and fluttering flamenco guitar caught my curiosity, so naturally I was drawn in. I remember infiltrating the Gerudo hideout with a smile on my face. It was so exciting and rewarding to uncover what was around the next corner.

That’s the most important aspect of a Zelda game for me. As long as my curiosity for adventure stays relevant throughout the game, I am a happy camper. But what are your thoughts? What’s the number one thing that draws you into the Zelda  series? Let us know in the comments below!
