Cadence of Hyrule hit the Switch eShop this past Thursday, effectively serving as Nintendo’s parting gift from E3 2019. Developed by Brace Yourself Games, this indie dungeon crawler brings Crypt of the NecroDancer’s rhythmic combat to The Legend of Zelda. Surely, at this point, many of you have gotten the chance to play the game! So our question is: what do you think so far?

Having never played the original NecroDancer, I’m definitely still trying to get used to the idea of moving to the beat of the music. Now, admittedly, as of this writing, I’ve played through only a handful of tiles on the map. Give me another hour or two, and I’ll be a master.

One thing that certainly doesn’t take getting used to, though, is the music itself. Right from the get-go, this game’s score establishes itself with an infectious remix of Ocarina of Time’s title theme. Already, I’ve heard refreshing interpretations of tunes from a variety of Zelda games. I can’t wait to find out just how far its musical representation goes!

Again, though, what about you guys? How are you liking Cadence of Hyrule so far? Unlike me, did you get the hang of the gameplay immediately? Let us know in the comments below!
