Daily Debate: What Are Your Go-To Items in Breath of the Wild?

In Breath of the Wild Link is given the ability to hold a mega arsenal of weapons that only got larger as you traded in Korok seeds to Hestu. If you’re like me, you kept a variety of bows, arrows, shields, and swords, but always had certain weapons that you went back to. Like the Great Flame Sword that sits in the docks underneath Hyrule Castle, or the Silver Longsword in Zora’s Domain. Whatever your weapon, you knew where to find it when it broke again. So what are your go-to choices for sword, shield, bow and favorite arrow? We can even throw armor in there, even though it doesn’t break. In this discussion I’ll omit the Master Sword and Hylian Shield as the shield is the strongest in the game, and if you’re able to fully power up the Master Sword it can be pretty strong as well.
My personal go-to for armor is the Hylian Hood, The Champion’s Tunic, and the Hylian Trousers. It’s a good set that’s basic and can be powered up pretty far. For the swords I really love the broadswords! They’re fast and you can still shield while wielding them. My personal favorite of this group is the Royal Broadsword. A runner up for my go-to would be any sword that a Lynel drops, or a claymore.
When it comes to shields my go-to is a Knight’s Shield. They’re pretty easy to find and durable. I know that there are better shields, but I’m the type of player who only shields if necessary. So I have an abundance of Knight’s Shields. And finally, for the bows, Royal Bows are my go-to, and I love Bomb Arrows! Bomb Arrows are an expensive commodity in the game, but worth it to be stocked up on. The Royal Bow is also a difficult find early in the game, but it really does pack a nice punch. My runner ups would be a Savage Lynel Bow, or a Falcon Bow.
