Daily Debate: If Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition Has DLC, Which Character Do You Want Most?

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition was recently unveiled for the Nintendo Switch. Scheduled to release this spring, the game will include every character, map, and mission from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game. I should preface that, aside from Breath of the Wild costumes for Link and Zelda, no new content has been announced for this iteration of the spin-off title.

However, there’s no harm in sharing our deepest wishes for hypothetical DLC. If Nintendo and Koei-Tecmo decide to breath new life into the game with yet another “season” of DLC characters, there are still plenty of fan favorite characters to choose from. With all of the familiar faces that have been brought to the roster since the game’s initial 2014 release, though, who is that one character that you’re still holding out hope for?

For me, Hyrule Warriors kind of peaked with its base roster, having represented my three favorite games in the franchise. I mean, it just doesn’t get any better once you’ve thrown Midna into the mix, you know? That said, I’m still crossing my fingers for one more warrior. Considering that Skyward Sword was immediately given representation, it’s all the more confounding that my second favorite Zelda character still hasn’t joined the fray!

Where is Groose?! Similarly to Tingle, Link’s Skyloftian rival has all the makings of an amazing “joke character.” Just think of him bringing a miniaturized Groosenator to the battlefield — it’d be the stuff of legends.
