IMG_0275 Hello and welcome back Zelda fans to another Collection Spotlight. I’m going to change up the format a little bit and allow each post to begin with a bit of the poster’s story. I always meant for these to posts to be written by the fans and for the fans. This week showcases 12-year-old Ashley… Hello Zelda friends, my name is Ashley and I’m 12 years old. My love for Zelda began around the beginning of my fifth grade school year. My dad decided that he was going to buy my sister and me a N64. The person we bought it from gave us the classics: Super Mario 64, 007, and The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I was curious about this Zelda game so I asked him what he knew about it. He replied that there was too much dialogue in the story, and he warned me against playing it. After some time passed, I got bored of the other games. I put the cartridge in and turned on the switch, and my love for Zelda began.

Please don’t hold it against me, but not being familiar with Zelda, I named the file Zelda, and I regret it to this very day! Anyhow, my dad is the one who played it for me because I hated the challenge in video games. We nearly beat it before he sold our N64 because we didn’t play it much. Right before he sold it, and I fell in love with Zelda, I got the holographic Majora’s Mask cartridge. Sadly, that all was sold away, however, my Zelda love still grew. Systems came, and systems went. One year for my birthday I got Twilight Princess for my Wii, and I played until the Goron Mine. Stumped beyond belief, I stopped playing it. I got more and more games until I came across Skyward Sword. I begged and begged my dad to get it for me, showing him the trailers online and sadly gazing at it on the locked up shelves in stores. Finally, one day we went to a game store in the mall and bought it. I was so incredibly happy. I played and played, and I also balanced playing some Ocarina of Time 3D. I eventually beat both of the games.

That made a solid foundation for my love of Zelda, thus leading to my collection listed below. I still wish to add to my collection. I am getting The Manga Box Set, Guide Book Set, as well as more Zelda figurines.

The games I have beaten are Ocarina of Time 3D, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, The Minish Cap, The Wind Waker HD, Spirit Tracks, and A Link Between Worlds.

In closing I ask, would you like to see your collection spotlighted on the website? Do you want to share how you got into Zelda and show off the items you are proud of owning?
Send me an email at tyler@zeldadungeon.net. Include some pictures, a little background of who you are, how you got into Zelda, your first Zelda game, a listing of the items you have now, what you hope to own in the future, and your favorite item.

Please do not be frightened or discouraged when you see these showcases. I’m receiving emails from collectors who are hesitant to have their collections featured even though they are quite good.

Also feel free to comment on whatever you like. What was your favorite item? Can you relate to this story? How did you get into Zelda? Add your comments below!
