Advertising is everywhere. An average walk down the street typically yields at least a dozen or two advertisements begging people to walk into X store and buy Y item. Having seen most everyday items get pitched to us a million ways, sometimes we have to wonder just how some of our favorite video games would advertise items. There are occasionally examples to be found in the games themselves, but they are not always easy to see.

Enter graphic designer Steph Chow. Having been inspired to pursue art by the video games she grew up with, Chow elected to return the favor by paying tribute to those games. The result? A lineup of clever and well-designed advertising posters for numerous iconic items from Zelda and other series. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have Heart Pieces and Magic Beans marketed to you by posters, make the jump to check out Steph Chow’s work!

Chow currently has made ads for six Zelda items and locations, one of which is available on Etsy for purchase! Most of her work pertains to Ocarina of Time, but there is also a Majora’s Mask reference in there as well. Check them out below:

These are all very clever and inventive, and they make fun use of modern marketing schemes along with the classic Zelda style we would expect them to actually be in were they in the games. As far as can be gathered from her website, none of these pieces are available for purchase except one. The Piece of Heart ad is available from Etsy seller Paper Hooch for $20 plus shipping and is made on 11×17 cover card stock.

How do you like these ad ideas? Would they convince you to purchase their items if you were a Hylian customer? Would you want that Heart Piece ad for yourself? Let us know what you think in the comments!
