In the past thirty-five years, the Legend of Zelda series has left an indelible mark on the video game landscape. In addition to numerous gameplay and design innovations, the music of the series has become legendary. Across the world, musicians are constantly covering the music of the series and being influenced by it. This means that Zelda fans are always able to hear wonderful covers of their favorite songs.

One of the most iconic songs from the series is “Zelda’s Lullaby”. First featured in A Link To The Past, the melody has been featured in almost every Zelda game since then. This harp arrangement of “Zelda’s Lullaby” by Samantha Ballard perfectly captures the peaceful, soothing tone of the song. While many versions of the song have more fleshed out orchestrations, including full orchestras, the simple beauty of this harp cover is striking. This wonderful tune is something I would recommend listening to after a long or stressful day; the relaxing song can help put the listener at ease.

The harp has always felt like a perfect instrument to use in “Zelda’s Lullaby” covers because Zelda has an association with the harp in two games. In Ocarina of Time, Zelda (disguised as Sheik) teaches Link temple warp songs using a stringed instrument. In Skyward Sword, Zelda uses the “Goddess’s Harp” throughout the game, eventually giving it to Link in a crucial story scene. Despite being called a “harp” in game, the instrument used in both games is actually a lyre, though these two instruments are close relatives in the same music family.
