It may be cold outside, Zelda fans, but you can count on the Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest to warm your frigid bones. Talk of winter storms, freezing rain, and Canada’s record cold winds has been dominating the discussion in the ZD breakroom this week, as we all collectively move into the coldest part of the year. And while I can’t exactly relate as I sit in the mild temperatures of Southern California, I can at least present a Wind Waker screenshot that I think perfectly captures the chill many around the world are feeling this week.

Last Week’s Contest:

Zelda asked Link if he wanted to build a snowman last week.

Here are our photoshop caption winners:

By: Dan

Here are our non-photo caption winners:

  • pyridiss: Why did that stupid Ravio rent the ice rod to HER?
  • Kestron: What? You complained about shield surfing costing durability, this is just an alternative way down the hill!
  • IceRod: “I bet this never happens to the 3D Links.”
  • HEreCTOR: Link: So this is the feel of 100 years of containing Ganon?
Zelda: *Laughing* This is the feel of Christmas.
  • Otwl: This is snow joke, Zelda! I’m freezing in here!

This Week’s Contest:

This is a live look at Canada right now.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages. When in doubt, keep it Nintendo.
  • If you don’t have the ability to edit the image, just leave it as a comment. We make sure to have a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Photo editing and manipulation (i.e. Photoshop) is allowed, but these entries will be part of a separate list of winners for this category.
  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Dungeon. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another… and that’s OK.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and, who knows?  Maybe you will be one of next week’s winners.
