Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, perhaps the most ambitious video game crossover of all time, has inspired a wave of creativity over the past year. For example, we’ve seen such projects as the Smash Bros. Remastered art series, with God of War art director Raf Grassetti creating ultra-realistic versions of the game’s fighters. And just over a month ago, Oscar Vega, a concept artist at Blizzard Entertainment, shared his own series of “fashionable” Smash Bros. character designs, including those for Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf.

Throughout late March and early April, Vega uploaded to his Twitter page a series of art pieces featuring Smash Bros. characters sporting various examples of modern fashion. Drawing on modern streetwear and hipster trends, these re-designs present Ultimate‘s roster as a group of stylish millennials. The Zelda series is appropriately represented by Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, with our hero partnered up with Captain Olimar, the princess partnered up with the Ice Climbers, and the evil king partnered up with Bayonetta.

Of the bunch, I think the Ganondorf-Boynetta coupling is my favorite, but every piece in the series is certainly worth a look. You can find the entire series in the gallery below or on Vega’s Twitter page here.

What do you think of Vega’s art series? Would you want to see Sheik or Toon Link re-designed? Let us know in the comments below!
