I am unsure what is more interesting: That these aren’t just a few costumes with some items or that Nintendo is the one asking for Bayonetta to show more… skin. In the original design of the Link costume, there was an undershirt—similar to how Link is actually clothed in real life. After Nintendo saw this, they asked the developers if they could remove the undershirt because Nintendo felt it didn’t fit with the style of of the game. Yes, Nintendo is the reason we see more cleavage, among other things, out of Bayonetta rocking the Link costume.

Beyond that, wearing the Link costume changes a few things in the game. One example is that the currency changes to Rupees, and when you pick them up they will look like Rupees and even make the same sounds they do when Link picks them up in a Zelda game. The rest… we’ll have to play the game to find out for ourselves. What do you think about these changes?
