Aonuma is Still Surprised by Miyamoto’s Opinions

Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto are two of the most renowned game developers in history. They’ve worked together on a number of fantastic Zelda titles, and each built up their own reputations as gaming legends. We’ve heard several times before that Miyamoto-san is more than willing to push Aonuma to the edges of his creativity in order to make a fantastic game, but today, Aonuma-san has spoken up about the relationship between the two of them and the reverence Aonuma has for Miyamoto.

“The time I have spent working with him is even longer than my relationship with my father, so I really should be able to read his mind by now. I am still surprised by his opinions, and I am far away from reaching Mr. Miyamoto’s level of perspective. When you get to my age, the number of people pointing out your faults become quite limited. So in this sense too, I would like him to forever give opinions on the products that we can create.” —

I certainly hope Miyamoto lives long enough to give his opinions “forever.” But alas, I don’t think anyone has managed to solve that problem…
