The game, to be released on Nintendo 3DS and DS, was originally planned to be a brawler or puzzle-platformer. However, true to its name, it was finally decided that the game would be in the adventure genre. It takes inspiration from classic Zelda games, Castlevania, Mega Man, and Metroid titles.

The gameplay closely resembles Zelda II, featuring top view areas that are focused on quest and exploration with combat portions of the game are side scrolling and will involve platforming as well as mowing down enemies. The original story line of the game is by Pendleton Ward, Adventure Time‘s creator.

Look’s like even today’s video games have something to learn from the classics. So what do you think? Tell us in the comments!
