From the maw of New York Comic Con, more details about the upcoming A Link Between Worlds have emerged, courtesy of IGN’s Jose Otero. These include mini-dungeons, item upgrades, rupee drop rates, the item system, and potential connections to other games in the series, barring the obvious one.

In addition to the larger primary dungeons, A Link Between Worlds will feature smaller mini-dungeons to satisfy your exploratory and puzzle-flavored hunger. They will have a variety of prizes, the example shown at Comic Con being a silver rupee. In general, rupees will be more abundant in A Link Between Worlds, playing a more significant role than simply spending money for sidequests and the occasional main-story purchase.

That role relates to the item shop, which will have many of the game’s items available for rental right from the start, but will sell them to the Link permanently for a hefty sum. Like in Skyward Sword, items will be able to be upgraded. The process has changed a bit, now relying on a drop called “maimais” which must be brought to one “Mother Maimai” to get them. At Comic Con, the bow upgrade was shown off, firing off three arrows at once.

Finally, though Aonuma has hinted at a connection to Majora’s Mask and the mask appears as a cameo, Otero gives reason to believe the connection goes a little deeper than a mask hanging on a wall. Whatever Nintendo has brewing, I am sure it will be interesting.

A Link Between Worlds comes out November 22nd in the US and EU, and the 23rd in Australia.
