Link Between Worlds musicNintendo has released a new video to show off  a sample of A Link Between World‘s music. The video reveals three separate musical tracks, including theme songs for new characters like Hilda, Ravio and Yuga. Naturally, if you want a sneak peak at the upcoming 3DS game’s musical soundtrack, you’ll have to continue reading after the jump.

Each song in this selection has its own distinctive mood. And yet, all three possess a similar 16-bit character, and use flutes and harps consistently to create a unified style for the game. Don’t take my word for it, though. Listen to the video below for yourself.

After a short rendition of the familiar Kakariko Village tune, the video starts out with Hilda’s Theme. The somber mood of this track fits the mysterious alternate version of Zelda perfectly, and its soothing  flute melody lends the song the feeling of a lullaby.

Ravio’s Theme, meanwhile, is upbeat and whimsical, just like the character himself. Short and simple, but also full of charm, I felt like I was walking through a Medieval fairgrounds just by listening to it.

Yuga’s Theme also begins on a  playful note, but becomes more sinister as it continues. Quick-paced and lively, the track definitely matches Yuga’s flamboyant, but undoubtedly wicked, appearance.

What do you think of A Link Between World‘s music from what we’ve been shown so far? Feel free to discuss how these tracks live up to your favorite Zelda melodies in the comments below. Don’t forget to also read Brian’s article on the musical Easter egg included in one of the game’s other tunes.
