Of all the assist trophies (of which there are many), by far Skull Kid and Midna are among many of our favorites. While some may be upset because this means they aren’t playable, that doesn’t mean they won’t have an impact. After all, assist trophies do attack and act as characters in battle when activated. That means that both Midna and Skull Kid have at least one attack, if not several. We know about two of the attacks, which we can see in the video above and a few close up screenshots below:

As you can see, Skull Kid emites a orange and yellow circle of power around himself, and if you watch the video above you can see that this leads to the level being flipped upside down. This is similar to a move Tingle use to do as an assist trophy. Of course, Tingle had some other attacks, so it is very likely that this is just one of a few moves Skull Kid has.

As you can see in the above screenshot along with the video, one of Midna’s attacks is the hair swipe, a move that we’ve seen Midna perform in Twilight Princess. I would be extremely pleased if she had another move that summoned Wolf Link and let her do that rush attack. That would be icing on the cake.

Also, can we just take a moment and show some appreciation for just how good Skull Kid and Midna look in HD? I know it’s only going to make us want remastered HD versions of Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess even more, but damn did they do a great job with their character models.
