It seems as though Nintendo is lessening the grip of it’s leash over what gaming sites are allowed to divulge about their experience with Skyward Sword. Numerous sites such as Destructoid, 1UP, GameSpot, and G4 have all released their experience with Skyward Sword’s first few hours. The time after departing from Skyloft, making your way to Faron Woods and conquering the Skyview Temple are all covered in the previews released today. Many new interesting details were revealed, luckily we have summarized the juicy tidbits which can be view after the jump.

Be warned spoilers are sure to follow, so make the jump at your own risk.

  • The citizens of Skyloft are unaware of the lands below and give the impression they are uninhabited
  • Link must first visit an area called the sealed grounds for a very short time.
  • Link comes across an engraved statue. While standing in front of the statue you must hold your sword up to the heavens to charge it before swinging it down. This will open a bunch of steam holes in the ground and open a sealed door, leading to a cave.
  • An old woman is in the cave, she tells Link it is her duty to wait for “the one who would be sent from the sky.”
  • The woman teaches you how to use beacons, and suggests you place the first one on Faron Woods.
  • One of the writers encounters a Goron who is an explorer whose task is to explore the mysteries of the forest
  • He is found studying a engraved metallic cube as seen in previous screenshots and trailers.
  • Link will encounter a Kikwi which hides itself as a bush, but can be found with the new dowsing mechanic
  • Link is then brought to meet the elder of the Kikwi, Bucha
  • Link is tasked to find three missing Kikwi and once found is rewarded with a Slingshot from Bucha.
  • There is a section of Faron Woods called Deep Wood
  • Floodgates are used in the Skyview Temple to change water levels
  • The mini-boss of that temple will be a stalfos
  • Demon Lord Ghirahim is the boss of the temple
  • Ghirahim reveals he summoned the storm that took Zelda, but is still have after her since she was rescued by the “servant of the Goddesses”
  • After defeating Ghirahim the player is able to pick up another heart piece as well as a small shard that will fit in the base of the Goddessess statute in Skyloft
