Accordion Need Not Apply in this Synth Funk Cover of Kass’ Theme
Posted on December 14 2019 by Kristen G. Rosario
There’s a great simplicity to Kass’ theme from Breath of the Wild. With just a simple accordion, this Ruto weaves for you a thrilling tale of legend using only his musical instrument. Well, the cover for this amazing theme that we’re listening to today uses a completely different kind of instrument to tell its tale.
This synth cover of Kass’ theme from Amie Waters provides a different take on the accordion-driven score from Breath of the Wild, making use of a keyboard and a modded Game Boy. It’s definitely a shift in tone compared to what the original score sounds like. In fact, to me, Amie Waters’ cover reminds me less of the Zelda series and more of the Castlevania series.
