With the coming of 2019, The Legend of Zelda series will be entering into its 33rd year as a franchise, making it one of Nintendo’s oldest and most successful game series. Obviously, Nintendo will keep riding that horse as long as they can, but at what point in beating it after it’s dead will they decide it’s time to stop?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think the Zelda franchise is going down hill, especially with the recent and immense success of Breath of the Wild, but there have also been some, shall we say, less than fondly remembered new additions (not naming any names, Tri-Force Heroes…). So should Nintendo ever close their doors on The Legend of Zelda? As of now, I don’t think so, but if they ever do, how should they do it? I think it would be great to have some kind of series end, hopefully including a final destruction of Demise’s spirit, eradicating it from Hyrule forever.

But enough of my thoughts, what do you think? Should the series end? How should the finale play out? Let us know in the comments!
