Now that Ocarina of Time 3D is available throughout several regions, the question is beginning to pop up of how vital the 3D effect is for the game? When I was writing my Eight Reasons You MUST Buy Ocarina of Time 3D article a few days, I put the 3D effect as the 8th most important reason. The reason I did this is that I was certain that the 3D was not for everybody, but that some fans would absolutely love it.

From personal experience, I think there is a large learning curve in order to adjust to 3D. I’m not talking about just Ocarina of Time 3D, I’m talking about all 3D games on the Nintendo 3DS. When I first saw the 3D effect, all I saw was a blurry picture and it took several seconds to focus in and get a solid 3D shot. Now, having played several hours of Ocarina of Time 3D… I can turn the 3D slider on all the way and almost immediately adjust to the picture.

The best comparison I have is to big screen TV’s. When I first got my 55″ HD TV in the basement last November, I was thrown by it. Often times feeling like it was TOO big. Truth of the matter is, the only issue was that I needed to adjust to it. Mentally, my eyes were used to significantly smaller televisions, and the new one was out of the ordinary. Rest assured, after just a few weeks it became completely normal to watch on the new TV. I think the exact same thing has happened to me with the 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.

So I raise the question to you all. Are you playing in 2D or 3D? Furthermore, if you are playing in 3D is it barely on, half way, most the way, or is the slider fully up, maximizing the 3D effect. Let us know by posting in the comments below.
