No, this isn’t another Tri Force Heroes news post; it’s actually another entry in Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest. With the news of Tri Force Heroes featuring many unique hero costumes, we’ll be using our artistic skills to construct our own outfits for the game’s trio of Links. Before we play dress-up however, we’ve got to see if our predictions were true from last week’s contest: E3 2015 Predictions.

Last Week’s Contest:

Last week, we asked the artists of our community to ‘shop together their most ridiculous predictions for this year’s E3. Needless to say, none of last week’s entries were completely accurate, but we did receive some creative entries and some dream games to endlessly look forward to.

Challenge Mode

There were three Challenge Mode rules to follow in last week’s contest. In honor of Hyrule Warriors Legends, Challenge Mode entries had to include The King of Red Lions; and in honor of a certain Ocarina Fish, they had to include both a fish and an ocarina. Artist Antonio Quiacain combined all these elements into a game I know we all want to see. This imaginative look at a Diddy Kong Racing 2 features the King of Red Lions as a vehicle and Mojora’s Mask‘s Gyorg boss as an opponent. We’ve seen the Zelda world appear in Mario Kart before; maybe one day we’ll see this game become a reality. Great job!

This Week’s Contest: Tri Force Heroes Costumes

This week has been insane! We saw the announcements of several great games, including an all-new multiplayer Zelda game. Tri Force Heroes was quite a surprise, showing off a wave of interesting new features and a new cooperative gameplay experience. You can actually read about my impressions of the game right here. Don’t worry; it’s super fun.

One of the biggest new features in Tri Force Heroes is the costume mechanic. Team members can choose unique costumes to wear during their quest, granting certain abilities and power-ups. This week, the Photoshop Contest is to create your own outrageous or inventive costume for the trio of Links to wear. These costumes can be as feasible or fantastical as you like. Zelda’s dress is already an option, and you can’t get much more ridiculous than that. You can use our image gallery to start, and make use of anything from the internet from there.

General Rules:

  • To save images from the gallery, right click the image in the gallery (without opening the image in lightbox) and select open image in new tab. Go up to the address bar and delete __small from the URL. Hit enter, right click, and save!

Challenge Mode

For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a few Challenge Rules for you to follow:

1. Your entry must make use of 3 images from the image gallery below.

2. Your entry must include Purple Link. He’s feeling a little left out.

If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.

Good luck!
