Photoshop Contest: Hyrule Warriors Party
Posted on December 12 2015 by Rod Lloyd
What’s this? It looks like it’s time once again for Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest. Earlier this week, Koei Tecmo unveiled quite the plethora of Hyrule Warriors Legends images and screenshots, featuring such things as newly-colored costumes for the game’s characters and artwork from the game’s new My Fairy system. These new pictures are so stylistically interesting that we would be careless not to make use of them in this week’s contest. Your chance to collect these colorful characters in a ‘shop creation lies ahead, as well as the winners from last week’s contest: Why Zelda Missed the Game Awards.
Last Week’s Contest:
The Legend of Zelda was noticeably absent from The Game Awards last week, so we asked contestants to explain why this happened. Check out the simple and charming winners.

This Week’s Contest: Hyrule Warriors Party
Koei Tecmo recently released many new renders and images from next year’s Hyrule Warriors Legends, and many of them are making quite a splash. For one, we’ve received some rather striking alternate costumes for characters such as Lana, Ghirahim, Zant, and Fi; and we also caught some glimpses of the game’s new My Fairy system. With all these cool, new images, the Photoshop Contest seemed like the most appropriate way to celebrate.
The contest this week is to gather characters from Hyrule Warriors Legends for some kind of event, preferably using the new images released this week. You can perhaps show these characters teaming up on the battlefield, or show them hanging loose at a party. As long as they’re together, you’re pretty much free to create any image you’d like. We’ve collected some of these new images in the gallery below, but feel free to use anything else you find on the internet as well.
General Rules: Submit your entries in the comments section below.
- To save images from the gallery, right click the image in the gallery (without opening the image in lightbox) and select open image in new tab. Go up to the address bar and delete __small from the URL. Hit enter, right click, and save!
- Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on December 16. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.
Challenge Mode
For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a Challenge Rule for you to follow:
1. Your entry must make use of at least 5 different images in our gallery.
2. Your entry must include something from Star Wars.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.
Good luck!
