Description:
 - Anti-fairies are a common enemy and can be found in many dungeons and caves on Koholint Island. They will constantly move around the room, bouncing off of barriers such as walls, blocks, or the edges of platforms. They always move diagonally and are easy to avoid when in large rooms, but can be an annoyance if you are in a small area or narrow hallway. If you find yourself trapped in a hallway with one coming at you, it may be wise to use the roc's feather to jump over it. Once you face them a few times, you will begin to understand how they move and they will a lot easier to dodge. However, the anti-fairy can be beneficial if you know how to handle them correctly. If you have the magic powder, sprinkle some on an anti-fairy to turn them into a fairy. In later dungeons, this can come in handy when you are desperately looking for health.

Description:
 - There is only one Anti-Kirby in the game, and it is found in the Eagle's Tower. This enemy is based off of a popular video game series by Nintendo, where you play as a pink puffball character known as Kirby. The Anti-Kirby is not a very threatening enemy, as they do little damage and are quite easy to avoid. It hops around the room without any real direction and will randomly jump off the ground and suck air into its mouth. Your sword will not harm the anti-kirby at all, so the best way to kill one is to swing your magic rod at it or hit it with your boomerang. Bombs will also do damage, but may be harder to aim and might not be worth your trouble. While it is sucking air in its mouth, it will slowly pull you towards it. It is best to just run away from it rather than trying to defeat it.

Description:
 - The Arm Mimic may be a confusing enemy at first, as they don't move on their own. They will instead mirror your movements in opposite directions. If you move up, they will move down. If you move left, they will move right. A simple sword slash will do nothing but push this enemy back. Spin attacks will kill an Arm Mimic, but most people simply dash through them with their sword and pegasus boots equipped. If you don't yet have the pegasus boots, It is best to either back towards them and do a spin attack or jump over them. Whatever method you choose, it is important to be cautious when you're near them since they deal so much damage.

Description:
 - These statue-like enemies are common throughout the Zelda games. Armos look like normal statues, but if you touch one they will begin to randomly move around the area. Armos are only found in the area just outside of Southern Face Shrine. Your sword will do no damage to an armos, but will instead push it back. One of the easiest methods to defeat an armos is to simply shoot it with an arrow. If you don't yet have the bow, another easy way to defeat them is to freeze it with your hookshot and place a bomb nearby. Armos have one of the strongest attacks in the game, dealing two hearts of damage if they contact Link. It is best to try to avoid them as much as possible. Luckily it is only necessary for Link to travel to Southern Face Shrine once during the game.

Description:
 - The Ball and Chain Trooper is a rare enemy, found only once in Kanalet Castle. You need to defeat him because he guards one of the golden leaves that you must retrieve. He can be a difficult enemy because of his long range weapon. Before attacking, he will swing the ball and chain above his head slightly faster than normal. It is best to move in to attack him as soon as he pulls back his weapon. You may find that the spin attack is an effective strategy, since you have plenty of time to charge it while waiting for him to attack.

Description:
 - The Beamos is a statue type of enemy that will shoot a laser at you when you pass by. These enemies will stay in place, constantly rotating their heads looking for you. The lasers that the beamos shoot are strong enough to penetrate through a L-1 shield. These lasers can be quite damaging if they hit you, causing one full heart of damage. However, if you have the L-2 shield equipped, it will be able to block the laser attack. The Beamos itself is invulnerable to all of your attacks, so don't bother trying to defeat it. If you are in a room with a lot of enemies, it may be hard to avoid the laser that it shoots. Do your best to avoid it, and it shouldn't be much of a hassle.

Description:
 - The Beetle is arguably one of the weakest enemies in the entire game. They live underground and will only come to the surface if you come near the hole they are living in. The only area you'll encounter these enemies is the screen directly south of Kanalet Castle. Any of your weapons will take them out with one hit. If you stay around their hole, they will continuously come out one after another.

Description:
 - These sharp traps are commonly found in the dungeons around Koholint Island. They wait at the corner of a room and quickly slide toward you if you are in their path. After they finish their attack they will slowly retreat back to their resting spot. To safely pass a blade trap, you should move in front of one then quickly move back. While the trap is moving back to its resting position, you can walk through without worrying about it sliding toward you. It may also be easier to jump over them using the Roc's Feather. Blade traps cannot be defeated, and are immune to all of your items.

Description:
 - Bloopers are octopus-like enemies, which are only found in the underwater sections of Catfish's Maw. Like several other enemies in this game, the Blooper is based off of a similar enemy in the Super Mario Bros games. Although they are very weak and can be defeated with one hit, they may be difficult to avoid. Unless they are coming at you, it may be best to just avoid them. Keep in mind that Bloopers are the fastest underwater enemy in the game. It is best to be below a blooper rather than above them, because they move upwards faster than they do downwards. When you are near a blooper, swing your sword repeatedly to defeat it.

Description:
 - The Bomber is a dangerous flying enemy that is located around the central part of Koholint Island. They fly around the screen, dropping bombs at random. Unless you are very close to them, attacking a Bomber with your sword is not advisable, since they will usually dodge your attacks. Unless you have the boomerang or magic rod, it would be best to stay away from them as much as possible. In small areas, Bombers can be nearly impossible to avoid. Never stand in place when a bomber is near you, always keep moving. The best item to use against a bomber is the magic powder. Sprinkling the magic powder on a Bomber will turn it into a fairy, and may be worth the risk.

Description:
 - Bombites are enemies that resemble a bomb with eyes and feet. When attacked, green Bombites will show a number on their body. The number will start at 3, and gradually count down to 1. When the timer gets to 1, the green Bombite will flash and explode like a normal bomb. As it is counting down, the green Bombite will follow you around the room. There are two methods of avoiding the green Bombite's explosion. The easiest way is to slash your sword to push them back when they get near you. The second method would be to try and outrun them. However, trying to outrun them is only effective if you are fighting one at a time.

Description:
 - Bombites are enemies that resemble a bomb with eyes and feet. When you attack a red Bombite, it will ricochet around the room, bouncing off of the walls. Red Bombites will explode a few seconds after you hit them. When trying to defeat a red Bombite, try to hit it in a straight path, rather than diagonally. If you hit them diagonally, it may be hard to predict their path and you will end up being hit or having the Bombite explode near you. If the red Bombite touches another enemy while it is bouncing around the room, it will explode on contact and may kill the enemy it touched.

These ghost enemies are weakened when you make the room brighter, so you should light the torches in the room before fighting them. When the room is dark, the Boo Buddies will attack Link and follow you around the room. When you make the room brighter, they will turn black and slowly back away from you. If the room is completely dark, then only your magic rod or arrows will kill a Boo Buddy. It will take four arrows or one hit with the magic rod to defeat a boo buddy in the dark. If the room is dark, slashing them with your sword will not harm them. Instead, they will blink, disappear, and reappear a few spaces away. The easiest way to take down a Boo Buddy is to light the torches in the room, then quickly slash them with your sword.

Description:
 - These rocks can be found at the north-western part of Koholint Island, near the entrance to Turtle Rock. Boulders will fall from the top of the screen and bounce around the mountainous terrain. Avoiding these boulders is only challenging if you are trying to climb a staircase. There is no way to defeat a boulder. It may be fastest to let yourself get hit and continue on your way, instead of trying to dodge them. Luckily, boulders only do half a heart of damage, so you are not in danger of dying unless your hearts are very low.

Description:
 - Buzz Blobs are strange green enemies made of goo. Electricity flows through their bodies, and you will get shocked if you try to attack them with your sword or bump into them. Buzz Blobs will wander around randomly, and are not agressive to Link. Using your boomerang, bow and arrows, or magic rod are all effective methods of defeating a Buzz Blob. Another method of defeating a Buzz Blob is to freeze it with your hookshot, then finish it off with your sword. Unless they are blocking your path, it is easier to simply walk around a Buzz Blob rather than trying to defeat it. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Buzzblob is the effect that magic powder does to it. By sprinkling magic powder on a Buzz Blob, it will turn into a Cukeman. The Cukeman is an interesting enemy that will talk about random things when you speak to it. But beware - they can still hurt you if you bump into them.

Description:
 - Ghinis are interesting ghost enemies that fly around graveyards. When you enter the screen, there will be one ghini floating around the screen. This ghini is the leader, and if it dies, all of the ghinis on that screen die with it. By bumping into a tombstone, you will wake the ghini from its sleep and it will emerge from the grave and fly around the screen. All ghinis look exactly the same, so if you want to kill the leader, you will need to remember which one it is. A common technique of killing ghinis is to keep an eye on the leader, then bump into a few graves to release more, then take out the leader to defeat them all. This is an excellent method of getting lots of items quickly. You have to be careful, however. The more ghinis you allow on the screen at once, the harder it will be to keep track of the leader. It may be wise to weaken the leader ghini before making more appear.

Even though they have no real attacks, these plants are dangerous and will hurt you if you touch them. If you have Bow-Wow with you, however, he will eat the plants just like he attacks any other enemy. Using Bow-Wow is the only way to make your way past them early in the game. Once you have the L2 Sword, a spin attack will defeat the Goponga Flower. The magic rod, boomerang, and hookshot are useful weapons against these obstacles as well.

Description:
 - Just like the other Goponga Flowers, this one does nothing but lay stationary in the swamp. However, it has a new attack that the smaller ones do not. The bigger version of the goponga flower will shoot fireballs at Link, similar to the attack of a River Zora. Because this flower is bigger than the smaller ones, it may be harder to avoid as well. To kill a big goponga flower, simply get Bow-Wow to eat it as he does the smaller versions. You can also take it out with your L2 Sword, boomerang, hookshot, or magic rod, in the same fashion of the smaller plants.

Description:
 - Hardhat Beetles are giant armored insects that constantly run towards you. Hardhat Beetles are always found in rooms with holes in the floor. The easiest way to get rid of these annoyances is to push them back with your sword, into the holes on the ground. Your boomerang and Hookshot will freeze a Hardhat Beetle, which might make it easier to defeat them. The only weapon that can actually harm it is the bombs, but it can be hard to line up an attack since they're always moving.

Wait until it turns around, then slice it with your sword from the back or side. A spin attack will defeat an Iron Mask in one hit. You also use your hookshot to remove the armor from an Iron Mask. When you remove its mask, it will move around the room quicker than before, but it will be completely vulnerable. Quickly slice at it with your sword or defeat it with one more attack with your hookshot.

Description:
 - Spiny Beetles are large insects that protect themselves by hiding under objects such as rocks, bushes, or skulls. You will only notice the Spiny Beetle when it gets up and begins to move. The Spiny Beetles that hide under rocks are identical to the ones hiding under skullss. It is possible to get close to a Spiny Beetle and pick up the object it is hiding under using your power bracelet, but this puts you in danger of getting hurt. Both rock and skull Beetles must be unprotected before they can be harmed, however. Once it is no longer protected, it is completely vulnerable and will be defeated with one hit. However, it is much easier to just avoid them if possible.

Be ready to avoid its club since it is one of the few projectiles that can travel diagonally. Attacking from a distance may be a good idea when fighting an Orange Stalfos.

 - Tektites are spider-like enemies that will quickly hop around the screen. They are usually found in the northern, mountainous areas of Koholint Island. When they are on the ground, they will usually remain still for a few seconds before jumping again. While they aren't moving, you can either shoot them with an arrow from a distance, or quickly walk up and slice at them with your sword.

Description:
 - These enemies are different from any other enemies in the game. They are found in Tail Cave and Eagle's Tower, guarding a treasure chest. They always travel in packs of threes, and will always be found in the same room. They flash alternating symbols on their bodies like the suits of a deck of cards. To defeat these enemies, you need to slice them with your sword to freeze it in place. Do this with each one so that they all stop on the same symbol, and each will be destroyed.

Found only in Face Shrine, these stone slabs wait at the ceiling of a room for their enemies to walk underneath them. Simply walking under them is not fast enough, so you'll need to equip your Pegasus Boots and make a quick dash to the other side to avoid getting hurt.

Stay in the corner or at the entrance of the room, and keep your shield held up until the tiles have stopped. You can also swing your sword at them continuously, so they will break when they hit you. This method is slightly more dangerous, however.

Description:
 - Vires are flying, red demons that are found only in Turtle Rock. These devils are able to fly off the edge of the screen and reappear on another side unlike any other enemy in the game, making them very evasive. Attacking Vires with your sword is extremely difficult, as they will quickly fly away when you get near them. Your fire rod and boomerang are the best weapons against Vires, since it will defeat them in one hit. Your hookshot is a bit too slow for vires, but your arrows may be useful.

Description:
 - Wizzrobes are magical wizard enemies that have the ability of teleporting around the room and shooting beams of energy at you. These are some of the toughest enemies in the game, so beware. Your sword is useless against Wizzrobes, so you'll need to use another weapon on them. Your best bet is to use arrows or bombs. Plant a bomb on the square where you know they will reappear. Timed correctly, this will defeat the wizzrobe in one hit. Another efficient method of fighting wizzrobes is to freeze it with your hookshot, then shoot it with arrows. Using your hookshot is somewhat risky though, since you will be right in line for their beam attacks.

Red Zols will split into two smaller enemies called Gels when you attack them with your L1 Sword, arrows, or bombs. Unlike Green Zols, they do not hide underground or jump up when you step on them.
