The land of Hyrule has always been a very diverse realm with a large variety of peoples and monsters living throughout. A very common aspect of the Zelda series is there being a clear distinction between a friendly NPCs that will talk to Link and cannot be attacked, and unfriendly enemy NPCs, which almost never speak and only exist as opponents to be defeated. This does not account for everyone, as there are the occasional exceptions on both sides. Nonetheless,…

Ohhhh man, this one was a doozy for me. It always has been. As I said last time, the Snowhead Temple was the first dungeon in Majora’s Mask that I had to use a walkthrough to get through, but Great Bay Temple was even worse. In this dungeon, I very quickly ran into a wall and had to switch to navigating via walkthrough for pretty much the entire dungeon. That had never happened to me before, and it definitely damaged…

Almost every Zelda fan is familiar with Ocarina of Time and the childhood quest Link embarks on to obtain the three Spiritual Stones. Each of these stones embodies an element and trait that resonates differently to every fan. While the Kokiri’s Emerald and Goron’s Ruby are both incredible, the Zora’s Sapphire appears to be gaining popularity when it comes to fan-made merchandise, and now you can own this stone in the form of a breathtaking ring. Follow the jump to…

Are you a fan of Brawl in the Family’s humorous take on Nintendo and all its beloved video game franchises? If so you’re going to love these two new comics from them. One features the Zora Lineage. A comical take on a Zora’s offspring with Lord Jabu Jabu. The second is spoof of Link showing our other hero Pit, from Kid Icarus, around Hyrule. Brawl in the Family never seems to let me down when it comes to getting a…

Zelda fan, Hylian Jean, attended Seattle’s anime and video game convention, Sakuracon 2011, in style as she dressed as Zora Queen Rutela from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This costume is completely custom made and took about two months to complete. The head and tail are made from shaved foam and polyester batting with a mask extension made of claycrete. These, she said, took her the longest to make. I think this costume gives a realistic representation of Queen…

The Masks of Link

November 05 2010 by Legacy Staff

One of the key differences that sets Majora’s Mask apart from other Zelda games is the vast number of masks that can be acquired. Every mask in the game has its purpose, but most of them do not hide Link’s true form; other characters can still tell that it’s Link behind the mask. However, four in particular are unique, both in terms of use and relevance to the story: the Deku Mask, the Goron Mask, the Zora Mask, and the…

Our friends over at LegendZelda.net have just reached their first birthday. After just 12 months online, their website has grown to become one of the most well known Zelda sites in the community and much of it has to do with their frequent article posting. Zora Mysteries

May 22 2010 by Legacy Staff

The Zora have been in many Zelda games and they often have an important role in Link’s quest to save Hyrule. Still, the Zora are quite weird creatures for general biology standards. When I was looking for more information about the Zora race we see in Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask and Twilight Princess, I came across a definition of the Zora on the official Zelda website (zelda.com): When the Goddesses created Hyrule, they blessed Zora’s Fountain and eventually the…
