An interview has been posted up over at Entertainment Weekly that features Shigeru Miyamoto. It has him talking about Skyward Sword, mainly some differences between the prototype and the finished designs difficulty levels, the 25th anniversary of Zelda and Mario, and other Nintendo stuff. Here’s a good tidbit of the interview: ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I just completed Skyward Sword, which really makes good use of the Motion Plus controller. Can you talk a little bit about how existence of Motion Control…

The folks over at TheGameStation have recently put out an interactive story video entitled Miyamoto’s Angels. This video stars Samus Aran from Metroid, Princess Peach from the Mario Bros, and our beloved Princess Zelda from the Legend of Zelda. It is a fun little video in which the three girls set off on a journey to fight off some mushroom smugglers. The first video introduces the characters and the scenario that they find themselves in. At this point the viewer…

How Long is Skyward Sword?

November 21 2011 by Knowlee

Kotaku has a short article up that talks about how long Skyward Sword is. We’ve heard Shigeru Miyamoto say that Skyward Sword would have at least 50-100 hours of gameplay. So was he right? Apparently so, because the author of this article states he reached about nearly the same amount during his playthrough of Skyward Sword. But the length of a game is, to a developer, like the size of a fish is to a boastful fisherman. Was Miyamoto embellishing?…

Today, European fans are finally getting to play Skyward Sword. But for those of us who still have to wait, Zelda Universe has provided us with the next article in their 25 Years in 25 Days series, covering the year 2010. There was not a lot going on for the Zelda series this year as the focus was on Mario and his 25th anniversary. It started off with the fan-made film, The Hero of Time, being taken off the internet…

As more information about Skyward Sword flows in, it’s easy to forget about some of it. You probably remember that Miyamoto gave a presentation about Skyward Sword at the Nintendo 3DS Conference in September, but what did we get out of that? Aside from a neat CG trailer and a new gameplay video, Miyamoto added some comments about the controls, the development, and what to expect from the game. One of these revelations was supposedly that Skyward Sword will feature…

The folks over at  Guardian.co.uk have covered a roundtable discussion with Shigeru Miyamoto where he spoke about future game releases for the Nintendo 3DS. He also answered some questions regarding Spot Pass and the Nintendo 3DS eShop. In his speech he happened to include some more information concerning Ocarina of Time 3D.   “Finally, he spoke about the forthcoming 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: “It ran at 20fps on the Nintendo64, but on the 3DS,…

The Zelda series is home to some radically different styles of storytelling, gameplay, and visual design. But if the entire Zelda franchise could be distilled to one set of elements, one preferred tone and graphical style, which would it be? Should Zelda games continue to pursue whatever direction they have grounded themselves in from their inception, or should they move forward into bold new territory? The tone of the earliest Zelda games is hard to pin down. Dialog was sparse…

Perhaps one of the most argued topics in Zelda timeline debates today is the Seal War, also at times referred to as the Imprisoning War. Theorists often question if what was once the story of the Seal War has become something different or altered today. Players first learned of the Seal War in A Link to the Past, but since, Nintendo has made multiple efforts in altering or changing the story. However, no title thus far has taken place during…

I’m back guys! Sorry for the wait before getting a new video from me. There was all that E3 and Skyward Sword stuff, plus there was a lot of news on Zelda Dungeon about it all, so I had to hold off until now to made a video about it. This video is basically my impressions about the game and everything we know about it. I do a little bit of going over all the facts and details that have…

Whassup people? Got a slightly special mailbag for you this week! This one, except for two questions, is all about Zelda Wii! E3 is drawing near, so there’ll be a lot more to see when they reveal more on the game then, but for now I’ll try to talk about it as much as possible. The questions and their timestamps are: (00:06) – Did you like Chancellor Cole in Spirit Tracks? (00:34) – Do you like rolling in Zelda, and…
