Hip Hop Gamer recently interviewed David Young on Nintendo, particularly David Jaffe’s comments on the company. What he had to say was nothing short of classic Nintendo. If you’re curious, hit the jump for more!

As we get closer and closer to the release of A Link Between Worlds, more and more sites are getting their hands on review copies of the game. Reviews have been nothing but good, with Game Informer going so far as to give it a 10/10! Well, I’ve got news for you, Destructoid is here to kill that streak. Just kidding! Time is concept that is very common within the Legend of Zelda series; with 16 installments over 27 years, the series has brought us a total of six games which have used the idea of time in some manner. Time has also played a factor in the grand scheme of Zelda in the form of the timeline itself. Ocarina of Time has three alternate outcomes — two of which were a consequence of Princess Zelda sending Link back in time…

Zelda’s three confirmed timelines are unprecedented in the series; there has never been anything quite like them in the entire series’ history. We’ve known some of the games’ order according to their relation to each other, and we knew two timelines existed, but we certainly didn’t know where every game went on the entire timeline, nor that there would be a third one. With the last game having been an ultimate prequel to the entire series, and with Hyrule Historia…

Zelda’s been around for over 25 years now and, despite what some people have been going on about, really has no reason to stop now. I think most people would agree that there being a lot more Zelda in the coming years is a given. So now that we’re days away from a new year, I thought I’d ask you guys… what do you expect from Zelda from here on out? I’m asking this question both in terms of what…

Artist Sean NG recently posted a series of images displaying his version of the Legend of Zelda reimagined as a grim war torn future set in the style of Fallout. The set is titled “Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Future” and includes a few familiar faces reimagined through the Fallout style. Only this time we are seeing robotic poes, mutant redeads and mechanical weapons. He has also included several background images displaying the destroyed landscape in intimate detail. Jump…

A new glitch was discovered in Ocarina of Time by youtube user, ZeldaFreakGlitcha. In this glitch the user made his way to the Great Deku Tree and after killing Gohma, he activated the portal, but instead of traveling outside he found himself transported to Ganon’s Castle after Ganondorf has been defeated. There he encounters an older Princess Zelda and has to escape from the falling castle. Upon escaping, he then has to fight Ganon even though Link’s still a child….

I think we’re at a bit of a turning point in the Zelda franchise. Nothing as major as a reinvention and it probably won’t mean any significant changes to the standard formula we’ve seen in every Zelda game, but a slightly new flavor in terms of the setting and story. I wrote a broad article about the future of Zelda in the past, but that was pre-Skyward Sword, and involved a lot of speculation and conjecture based on numerous factors…

November 28 2011 by Djinn

The folks at IGN have decided to take a look at the various pros and cons of including voice acting in video games. Of course one cannot bring up the subject of voice acting in games without thinking of Legend of Zelda. The Legend of Zelda is one of the last great holdouts due to Nintendo’s reluctance to make a fully voiced sequel to the series. With the recent release of Skyward Sword it is again asked why does Link…
