Our general gaming sister site GenGAME recently sat down with the developers behind the indie game Two Brothers and learned a heck of a lot about the in-development title. First of all that it draws some inspiration from our own favorite series.

Hit the jump to learn more about this intriguing game.

Not only is the game Two Brothers meant to visually represent a Game Boy era Zelda game, it features several mechanics that are very Zelda-esque. In many Zelda games there are two worlds which Link must travel between–light/dark in A Link to the Past, child/adult in Ocarina of Time, and so on. Two Brothers follows suit–albeit in a much darker way–with life and afterlife; when the character dies in the real world, he is instantly transported to the world of the afterlife, a place contrasting with his black-and-white world by being full of vibrant color. When the character returns to regular life he finds himself addicted to the colorful land and seeks a way to return there–in the darkest means possible, it sounds.
