Fan Art Showdown 19: Midna VS. Aryll

Greetings Hylians, welcome back to the Fan Art Showdown, exclusively here on Zelda Informer! This week’s lineup features a pointy and papery version of our twilit friend Midna, and our favorite little sister, Aryll. Last week’s competition was a bit rough, I apologize for that, but it pitted Vaati and Midna against each other, and she’s come back again. If you missed out on last week’s competition, you can find it here.

Week 18 Winner – “Twilit Companion” by Gracie Keener

Congrats, Gracie! You won, Week 17’s competition! I look forward to seeing more of your artwork in the Fan Art Showdown, as do your fans.

Submission Guidelines

It really is an amazing thing to see your submissions flow into our Fan Art Showdown inbox, which is why we strongly encourage you to submit any artwork that you have, and you just might see it here in a few short weeks. Before anyone sends us their fan art creations, you need to take into consideration that there are some guidelines set to ensure that all goes well in the process of submitting your creations. Please note, we have added an extra guideline to help those shy, but talented artists out there who prefer to stay halfway in the shadows. Please have a look:

  • Submissions cannot contain any content that can be considered over PG-13. This includes sexual content, graphic content, profanity, alcohol references, drug references, or sexual references.
  • All submissions must contain a title. Anything that is sent in, and has no title will be disregarded, and will not end up in the Fan Art Showdown until the artist resubmits the piece, with it’s respective title.
  • If your piece is chosen for the next edition of Fan Art Showdown, please don’t boast about it, or slam the other competitor. This is a fair ‘fight’ so please have some respect, and show some courtesy.
  • Artists now have the right to remain anonymous. This means that when your piece is featured, your name will be shown as “Anonymous” instead of whatever it normally would have been. This does not negate the rule about titles, they will still need one in order to be added to the art queue.

Please note: All fan art submissions need to be sent to fanart@zeldadungeon.net. Additionally, you can send any questions, comments, or concerns about the Fan Art Showdown to that address as well.

#1 – “Midna with an Oddity of a Left Arm” by Jeffrey Swagmaster

Midna’s returned for a second round, but this time in the form of paper! The backsplash behind her adds a real vintage look to the picture and gives it a nice contrast to the dark colors of the Twili that Midna bears.

#2 – “Aryll Papercraft” by Anonymous

Who doesn’t love Aryll? She’s your only sister in the franchise and is as sweet as a piece of candy! She sports the dress she’s acquired from the Pirates, and the overall mood of the image is somewhat enigmatic.

Closing

This week’s match-up was a sweet return to Papercraft. Midna’s made another appearance, in hopes of a back-to-back win (the artist did as well!). The Pirates have dropped Aryll off for a competition that’ll make her prove her worth to Tetra and our favorite band of baddies, and next week, we’ll have something special to celebrate our 20th week anniversary of Fan Art Showdown (hint: you’ll see a new face, that I promise you’ve never seen in the franchise before).

As a quick reminder, please don’t forget that your submissions, and general feedback is welcome at our email address. Just ship it off to fanart@zeldadungeon.net, please make sure you take a look at the Submission Guidelines at the top of the article, and as always: Stay Creative!
