The release of Breath of the Wild brought many new things to the Zelda franchise, like an open world, cooking mechanics, and perhaps the most divisive and interesting thing — voice acting. With voice acting, of course, comes a need for voice actors. I, for one, believe that the voice actors in Breath of the Wild brought life to the characters, and created a new layer of immersion that helped create a more interesting atmosphere, and the addition of several cast members to Tears of the Kingdom helped drive that point home too. Matt Mercer gave an iconic performance as our favorite Demon King.

After hearing the voices of different characters while playing Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, I couldn’t help but wonder what other iconic characters in the franchise would sound like if given a voice. More importantly, who would provide these iconic voices? In the spirit of the spookiest season, I’d like to focus on the series’ spookiest villain — Majora!

The end of Majora’s Mask gives us some pretty intense lines from the spirit within the mask, with some pretty dramatic deliveries. One of my favorites is right after the mask drops poor Skull Kid to the ground and says, “This puppet’s role has just ended…” I get chills every time I read it. But who would deliver those lines so evilly? To me, I’ve always heard someone like James Earl Jones or Keith David. Someone with a threateningly deep voice, but with a sophisticated tinge that lets you know that this villain is clever.

What does the voice of Majora sound like to you? And who do you think would be a good match to voice the mask? Let us know who’s got the spookiest voice in the comments below!
