The Legend of Zelda series has traditionally been played from the point of view of Link, the hero of Hyrule. Very rarely do we get the chance to control another character. One of the few instances I can think of is in Hyrule Warriors, but that isn’t a mainline Zelda title. What if we were given the chance to control the actions of Ganon in a mainline game?

I would love the chance to be able to play from the point of view from Ganon. Probably not for the whole game, but what if it was a “pre-game” type of thing? Before the main story even begins, the player controls Ganon as he plots to take over Hyrule or whatever his plan is this time? What if that piece of the game influences the outcome of the rest of the game? Kind of like a choose your own adventure sort of thing? The idea doesn’t seem super plausible, but it would make for a cool addition, even if it’s just a fleeting thought one might think of. I wouldn’t say no to a Ganon spin-off game either. We were treated to a little bit of Ganondorf playtime in Hyrule Warriors and I would hope to see something similar again.

What do you think? Would you like to have Ganon/Ganondorf as a playable character in a Zelda game? Sound off in the comments below!
