A remake of a classic video game can often inspire a fun time for nostalgic fans, so much so that it can inspire great works of art. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is no exception. With Nintendo’s release of a remake of the classic Zelda title back in 2019, fans seemed to be on the edge of their seats with excitement. After all, it’s not like you could go back and visit Koholint Island re-imagined every day. Now you can! Fans took this excitement to heart and began to show their love for the game and the series as a whole in many amazing ways.

Among many different forms of artistic contributions inspired by Link’s Awakening, one of the most fantastic and genuinely dedicated works to date is this claymation-style 3D animation featuring Link by Instagram’s Banana Pictures. Calling to mind one of the most difficult art media to pull off, this claymation-style video presents its 3D objects as if they were clay figures captured using stop-motion photography. From our hero walking, to slicing up enemies, to cutting grass, the attention to detail in this animation is fantastic. With this animation, the Zelda community can dream of an entire animated short with this style.
