It’s no secret that the Legend of Zelda franchise has fantastic music. From the moment you start any of the entries in the series, you can hear exactly what the hype is about. This is even true for the very first entry in the series. The iconic and heroic main theme plays over the title sequence in a slow and stately march, giving the player every sense of the adventure they’re about to embark on.

When it comes to covers of this amazing march, what could be more epic and stately than a metal cover? With an awesome distorted guitar sound and great-sounding drums, Swedish YouTube user Leonard Hansson, a self-described “14 year old guitarist with a lot of free time,” gives us an incredibly well-played cover of the title theme from the original game. Even more impressive is the fact that this is Leonard’s first time tracking bass guitar! In addition to this rockin’ cover, the guitarist gives us some hilarious visuals, including a Guitar Hero controller solo and an epic guitar smash.

If you want even more video game covers, like a cover of the original TetrisType A,” as well as a great acoustic cover of the Diablo main theme, you can check out Leonard Hansson’s channel here.
