ZDMarathonPosterFeaturedW1-690x388We’re getting closer and closer to the start of the 2014 Zelda Dungeon Marathon, and we’ve got some more information for you! If you did not already know, the Zelda Dungeon Marathon is an annual charity event that will be taking place on our Twitch channel from July 26th to July 31st. Hit the jump to read all about it!

First off, the schedule is mostly finalized, so we should be getting that available to you within a few days. This will certainly eliminate the frustration of wondering what game will come next, or more importantly, when your favorite Zelda game will be played.

We have a few races this year that are shaping up to be pretty close! For instance, we’ve got Mases and Mosley going at it again in Link’s Awakening, which should prove to be an exciting nail-biter, as it was last year.. Mases and Mosley will also be going up against each other in a race of the Oracle games. What this means is that one player will start Oracle of Seasons while the other player starts Oracle of Ages. Once a player finishes their game, they will link it to the next game. The first player to finish both games wins.

Josh and Blake, long time rivals, will also be vigorously competing against one another in a few games. First, we have a much anticipated race in The Wind Waker HD. The players both seem to possess admirable skill, or at least they claim to. This will be an extremely exciting race to watch, and it will be interesting to see the variation in the players’ routes.

Josh and Blake will also be racing against each other in A Link Between Worlds. However, there’s a twist: The viewers will get to choose the order of the dungeons!!! We’ll have Nightbot set up in the chat, and we will be using polls to let the chat vote on which dungeon the players will go to next. At the end of each dungeon, we’ll start a new poll with the remaining dungeons as choices.

As if racing Josh wasn’t enough for him, Blake has decided to tackle Mases himself in some of the classic titles! Mases and Blake will be racing in The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. It’s no secret that Mases has been top dog at these games in the past years, however we’ve been assured that the Zelda II race is one that you definitely don’t want to miss. Will Blake be able to take down the defending champion?

We don’t have all of the players confirmed for the rest of the races yet, but we can tell you that there will be a multiplayer race in Ocarina of Time (up to four players) and a six-player race of A Link to the Past with donation punishments coming back again this year! More information about those games will be coming soon.

We’re also planning on having a Tetra’s Trackers tournament, which will include everyone that is attending the marathon this year. More information on this tournament will be coming soon as well.

So far, it’s looking like it’s going to be a pretty exciting marathon for the attendees and viewers alike. Right now, you can let us know who you think will win the Link’s Awakening race between Mases and Mosley. Will Mosley be able to take down Mases this year, or will Mases be able to repeat last year’s victory? Let us know in the comments or by voting on the Strawpoll!
