During this morning’s Japanese Nintendo Direct, no ground-breaking Zelda news was revealed, as was expected. However, there was a small amount of Zelda content, as Link appeared fighting two Shadow Links in a game called Famicom Remix. (Yes, Shadow Link, from Zelda II, not Dark Link from Ocarina of Time.) This game appears to be the equivalent of what is called NES Remix here in the West.

Although there was no more major Zelda content in the Direct, it was pretty fun to watch other games being revealed, as well as a new 3DS bundle…

During the 2013 Fangamer X Attract Mode show, many artists created fan art for their favourite games of all time and it is no surprise that Zelda artwork was featured at this event. But now there is an even bigger surprise, one of the Zelda artworks from the Fangamer X Attract Mode Show is for sale! One of the features that people were most excited about before the release of A Link Between Worlds was the StreetPass function, in which you could play against another player’s Shadow Link. Each Shadow Link that you encountered would be equipped with a sword, shield, and tunic, as well as armed with two items that were chosen by the owner of that particular Shadow Link. Now, YouTuber, WiiFolderJosh, has posted a video showing one of these battles with Shadow Link….

Dark Link is one of Link’s most famous recurring foes, having appeared in six different Zelda games, with his similar-yet-different doppelganger, Shadow Link, appearing in a further two games. This means that some version of Dark Link has appeared, roughly, in every second Zelda game. So why are his roles in each game so small? Dark Link is Link’s opposite: everything that Link is, Dark Link isn’t. I believe that this could make for a very personal and beautiful storyline…

It’s interesting to talk about the size of the bosses in the Zelda series, and I wrote about this before in another article, where I talked how the bosses in Zelda had stagnated in terms of concept and design. All the bosses at the time seemed to be titanically huge, follow a tired, predictable formula, and were ironically extremely easy to beat despite their intimidating size. Skyward Sword seems to have begun to reverse that trend a bit, but I’ll…

Alright guys, here’s the new mailbag. As has been the usual lately, it’s got a nice variety of questions. An unusual focus on Adventure of Link, actually, with one question directly asking about the game and another with an answer that ties into it. Two Skyward Sword ones as well. There’s also a lot of questions here that deal with factual answers, and not as many (there’s still plenty) of questions that deal with opinions. 10 questions in all. You…
