The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a timeless classic of the Zelda series, and it holds up as one of the greatest games in the franchise all of these years after its release. It offers us a darker look into the series as a whole as well as giving us our first look since Majora’s Mask at a transformation. However due to its lack of release on any consoles other than the Wii and GameCube, it stands out as a rather old game in the series. That might not be the case for much longer.

Twitter user Octogirl has come forward with a Wii U home menu icon which looks mysteriously like the Twilight Princess icon that we all know and love. Could this hint to an upcoming Wii U HD remake of the game? Let’s be cautiously optimistic for now at least, as a Title ID and Title Icon were the only things that Octogirl was able to find during her sweeps, but she mentioned that they are indeed quite new. The odd part that is that she didn’t even find any hint of a game, only the information about the title. However, it’s notable that the fashion in which she found the information heavily suggests it is a native Wii U game, rather than a virtual console Wii title. Hence her assuming it is in reference to an HD version of the game.

Could this be Nintendo trolling us? Could there actually be a HD remaster of Twilight Princess coming our way soon? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
