Legend of Zelda DLC Coming to Mario Kart 8

Mario Kart 8 proved to be just the kind of game Nintendo needed to boost Wii U sales and it looks like it’s about to get even better. With a surprising announcement, the Nintendo UK website has posted information about new DLC coming to Mario Kart 8 that involves new courses, karts, and even a certain Hylian hero you might just be familiar with. The new DLC for Mario Kart 8 mixes Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, and even throws a dash of F-Zero into the mix for good measure. The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 DLC packs come with the following additions for Mario Kart 8 owners:

Pack 1
3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and Link
4 Vehicles: One of which is the Blue Falcon kart and is inspired by F-Zero
8 Courses: Includes courses which return from previous Mario Kart games, like Wario’s Gold Mine. Some courses will also take place in the worlds present in The Legend of Zelda
Release: November 2014

Pack 2
3 Characters: Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser
4 Vehicles
8 Courses: Some courses will take inspiration from the Animal Crossing series
Release: May 2015

Finally, if you decide to buy both packs (together or separately), you will also receive 8 different colors for Yoshi and 8 different colors for Shy Guy that you can use immediately after purchasing them. Each pack is listed as £7.00, which would be roughly $12 per pack. The packs are also available to pre-order if you happen to live in the UK.

Update: For the United States, each pack will cost $8, but if you opt to buy both, it will only set you back $12.
