It’s still hard for me to even type these words right now. President and CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, passed away on July 11th, 2015. This week, I do a really poor job trying to honor someone whom I had been openly critical about in the past. Yes, I was one of those that thought he should no longer be CEO. I still stand by those thoughts, but this isn’t what I meant in the least bit. He was Nintendo through and through, and I felt honored to have had him at the company, truly representing gamers.

I feel like I need to apologize for several things with this episode. For starters, I am sorry for just sitting on a couch and not recording with a proper mic. We got a brand new house a week ago, but it wasn’t ready to move into and needed a lot of work – from painting, shingles, and new carpet, to demolding the entire house. I’ve been extremely busy. If you have been wondering where I have been the last week, it’s been putting 16 hour days into the house so we can move in. My family is bouncing around homes, and I am couch surfing as well. Right now, it looks like we won’t be moving in until the 20th.

I also apologize for the lack of editing – I am too swamped with house work. I wasn’t even going to do an episode this week, but I felt that I couldn’t ignore what was happening. Beyond that, I apologize for not keeping my composure. The last week has been a very emotional one, with having to deal with the previous renters and the condition of the house, along with my grandparents having complications and both being in the hospital – and now this. Iwata is a gaming icon, and you’ll never convince me otherwise.
