Photoshop Contest: Serious Business
Posted on April 24 2015 by Rod Lloyd
TGIF! It’s time to celebrate the end of a long work week with Zelda Informer’s Photoshop Contest. This week we’re going to climb straight to the top of the corporate ladder and look at Zelda in the most business-like way possible. It may sound too serious, but it might be a good idea to restore our professionalism after the outrageousness that was last week’s contest: Loftwing Evolution.
Last Week’s Contest:
In light of a particular fan theory‘s conjecture that Skyward Sword Loftwings somehow became Twilight Princess Oocca, we asked fans to produce photoshops that demonstrated that evolution. The winning entries showed the scientific creativity we were looking for, offering very convincing evidence of how beautiful winged creatures became small, unsettling monsters.
Best Submissions:
Artist: Mountain Smithy
Artist: HaaYaaSkaa
Artist: Guest
Challenge Mode
As you can tell by the inexplicable appearances of Game Theory’s MatPat, many entries accepted last week’s Challenge Mode to include everyone’s favorite theorist in their artwork. While they all included Mr. Pat and a Zelda character disapproving of his theories, Hylian Ticipated created a .gif masterpiece. With humor, suspense, and slightly inaccurate Pokémon references, Hylian Ticipated takes the Challenge Mode for the second week in a row. Who will challenge this champion’s throne? Let’s find out!
This Week’s Contest: Serious Business
The Zelda community tends to swing back and forth between carefree silliness and uncompromising seriousness. Sure, we all like to have a bit of fun and make a few jokes with our favorite Zelda games, but there’s no argument that we all discuss Zelda with a no-nonsense attitude sometimes. The Photoshop Contest has been quite silly the last few weeks, so this week we’re going to channel our most serious.
Your assignment this time to treat Zelda as nothing but Serious Business. We want things like business suits, TPS reports, stock prices, and shady backdoor deals. Take any pieces of the Zelda series and professionally insert them into the corporate world. You may take advantage of our complimentary image gallery down below or utilize anything else on the internet for your entry.
General Rules:
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
- Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on April 29. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.
Challenge Mode
For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have some Challenge Rules for you to follow:
1. Your entry can only use images in the image gallery below.
2. Your entry must be artfully black and white.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.
Good luck!
