Oracle of Ages Walkthrough - Quick Guide: Chapter 7 - Jabu-Jabu's Belly

~Queen Ambi's Palace~
  • Our next destination is back in Lynna Village. From the waterfall, go down a screen, left a screen, into the water, and swim left a screen.
  • Resurface and then go up a screen, left a screen, down a screen, and left a screen to get back to Lynna Village.
  • Go down, left, up, and left a screen and you'll bump into Ralph just outside of Queen Ambi's Palace.
  • Go up two screens to enter the garden of Queen Ambi's Palace.
  • There are four areas in the four corners of the garden, each of which has a switch. You must step on all four switches to reveal a secret passage in the courtyard.
  • BOTTOM-LEFT Go down on the right side and immediately run towards the switch and quickly run back up.
  • BOTTOM-RIGHT Go down on the left side and immediately run passed the guards to step on the switch. Wait until the guards are walking to the right in unison and then run up.
  • TOP-RIGHT Go up on the right side and then wait for the guard to walk to the left. Quickly run to the corner and step on the switch. Come back the same route when the guard walks to the left.
  • TOP-LEFT Go up in the middle of the screen and once the guard on the left comes down, quickly sneak up along the right side and step on the switch.
  • With all four switches stepped on, walk to the right side of the courtyard and slash at the trees to reveal a staircase.
  • Go down the staircase and dive underwater.
  • Swim left two screens, avoiding the water whirlwinds. Resurface and head up the steps to find yourself inside of Queen Ambi's Palace.
  • Push the blocks and then head left a screen. Quickly run to the top-right corner of the room. Then run to the left and go up the steps. If the guards see you, slash at them with your sword until they run off.
  • Quickly run left and down towards the bottom-left corner of the room. Then run all the way to the right and wait for the guard to move up. Follow him and then sneak right to the next room.
  • Walk towards the bottom-left corner of the room and then make your way across the bottom of the room to get to the bottom-right corner. Be sure to avoid the guard that stands right in the center of the room and just turns his body. Go right a screen.
  • Go up a screen and you'll find Nayru, but she is still possessed by Veran.
  • Pull out the seed shooter with mystery seeds. When Nayru is charging her attack, shoot her with a mystery seed. With Nayru now lying on the ground, pull out the switch hook and use it on Nayru. This will Nayru from Veran and allow you to get a few slashes in on Veran. Repeat this same process until you've hit Veran several times.
  • With the boss now defeated, Nayru has been freed from Veran. However, once Queen Ambi arrives, Veran quickly takes control over the Queen and sends the guards into attack Link, Nayru, and Ralph. However, Nayru uses her powers to transport all three of them back to the present where they stand in front of the Maku Tree.
  • After a lengthy cutscene, Nayru will teach you the third and final song on the Harp of Ages, the Tune of Time. This will allow you to travel back and forth between past and present whenever you'd like without the need of warp portals.
  • The next essence whispers from inside a fish.

  • ~Enter Jabu Jabu's Belly~
  • Before progressing any further, you must have some Magic Potion. If you bumped into Maple enough times, you may have captured it from her. If not, make way your way back to the Yoll Graveyard at the east end of the overworld while in the present.
  • At the far northeast corner of the Yoll Graveyard there is a hut that we couldn't reach earlier since water blocked the path. This is Syrup's hut and she sells Magic Potion for 300 rupees, so purchase some.
  • From the Maku Tree in the present, go down seven screens to reach the coastline.
  • Use the Mermaid Suite and swim left two screens, down two screens, and left a screen.
  • Resurface and then play the Tune of Ages right in front of the doorway to warp to the past.
  • Back in the past, swim left two screens, climb the steps, and then up a screen to reach some land.
  • Play the Harp of Ages to get back to the present.
  • Dive underwater and then swim to the right one screen.
  • Use the switch hook on the underwater diamond and then resurface on the right side. Play the Tune of Ages to return to the past.
  • Swim to the left two screens, down a screen, and then climb the steps. Just next to the steps, play the Tune of Ages to get back to the present once again.
  • Dive underwater and head down a screen. Use the switch hook on the diamond to get a cross and then head left a screen to enter Zora's Village.
  • Swim up a screen, resurface, and then gather some gale seeds to create a warp point with the gale seeds. Play the Tune of Ages to return to the past.
  • Dive underwater and then head up two screens. Enter King Zora's Palace.
  • Swim up the staircase here and speak with King Zora. Give him the Magic Potion that you have and this will heal him up. Exit King Zora's Palace.
  • Swim back down two screens, play the Tune of Ages, and return to the present.
  • Dive underwater once again, swim up two screens, and enter King Zora's Palace in the present.
  • Go up the steps and speak to the still alive King Zora. Speak with him and agree to his request and he will give you the Library Key. Exit King Zora's Palace.
  • Swim to the right three screens and then resurface. Climb the steps and play the Tune of Ages to get back to the past.
  • Walk right a screen and use the Library Key we just go. However, for now there is no reason to enter this building. Play the Tune of Ages to warp back to the present.
  • Back in the present, enter the Library.
  • Go up a screen and speak with the Old Man to get the Book of Seals. Exit the Library and return to the past.
  • Enter the library and head up two screens. Place the Book of Seals on the podium and it will give you a path. The path starts off by going RIGHT four times, UP twice, and RIGHT twice to the next book. From here go UP two, LEFT one, UP two, RIGHT one, and UP one to get to the next book. Now walk LEFT two, UP one, and LEFT three to get to the next book. Next go DOWN one, LEFT three, UP one, and LEFT three to get to the next book. Go DOWN one, RIGHT one, DOWN two, LEFT two, and DOWN three to get to the next book. Finally go RIGHT one, DOWN one, RIGHT two, UP one, RIGHT one, UP one, and RIGHT two. Speak to the Old Man and he will give you some Fairy Powder before warping you back to the room below. Exit the Library.
  • Go left a screen and use the switch hook to get across the gap. Go left a screen and enter the cave.
  • Speak to the Octorok and after using the Fairy Powder, the octorok will turn back into a fairy. The fairy will then cleanse the sea of all the poison bubbles. Exit the cave.
  • Play the Tune of Ages to get back to the present. Jump into the water and dive under. Swim to the left two screens and enter King Zora's Palace once again.
  • Go upstairs and speak to King Zora who will now allow you to enter Jabu-Jabu.
  • Exit King Zora's Palace, go down a screen, left a screen, and up two screens to find Jabu-Jabu. Enter Level 7, Jabu-Jabu's Belly.

  • ~Jabu-Jabu's Belly~
  • While underwater only the weapon equipped as A' will be able to use. Swim to the left a screen.
  • There are four diamond switches in this room. Swim over the holes and use the switch hook, moving the diamond switch at the left so that it is directly above the statue at the bottom-left. Then use the switch hook to move the middle diamond so it is directly below the statue at the top-left. With all four diamonds adjacent to the statues, a small key will drop. Grab it and swim up a screen.
  • Swim to the yellow squares and resurface to get to the floor above. Go left a screen and you can get the dungeon map. Then go up a screen.
  • Jump in the water, swim across the gap, and head up another screen.
  • Avoid or defeat the enemies as you head up a screen and then right a screen by pushing the blocks out of the way.
  • Hurry past the spinning spikes, unlock the block, and then head up the steps to the third floor.
  • Go down a room, around the corner defeating the enemies, and head back up along the left side. Continue up one more screen.
  • This is the Water-Level room. We will be returning often to raise and lower the water level. Step on the floor switch and the water level will lower at other parts of the dungeon. Backtrack several screens and go down the steps to get back to the second floor.
  • Go down a screen and fall down the whole on the right side.
  • You can use the switch hook twice to get to the left side of the room and get a ring from the treasure chest. Then head down a screen.
  • Push the block out of the way and open the treasure chest here to get a small key. Exit to the right.
  • Use the switch hook to get the diamond out of the way. Place a block on the floor switch with the cane of somaria and then head right a screen.
  • Swim across the room and climb the steps. Go up the staircase to get back up to the second floor.
  • Go up a screen and then make your way around the room on the right side. Avoid the anti-fairies and get up another screen.
  • Use the switch hook on the pot to get to the left side of the room and then head left a screen.
  • Use the switch hook a number of times as you make your way all the way around the room. Go up the staircase to get to the third floor again.
  • Avoid the enemies and head up a screen. Use the small key on the locked door and head left a screen.
  • Back in the Water-Level room, step on the blue switch here and this will raise the water level. Now backtrack right a screen, down a screen, and down the steps back to the second floor.
  • Continue backtracking right a screen and down two screens.
  • Water now fills the area here, so jump inside and swim to the right side of the room. Go right a screen.
  • Defeat the two mini-moldorms in this room and open the treasure chest to get a small key. Go back left a screen, jump in the water, go up a screen, and left a screen.
  • Dive under the water here to get back to the first floor.
  • Swim around the room and head down the staircase to reach a side scrolling area.
  • Defeat the enemies and head left a screen to take on the level mini-boss, Angler Fish.
  • Equip the seed shooter and hit the angler fish with a scent seed and it will fall to the floor. Run on over and slash away with your sword. The angler fish will get up and the process repeats itself. Just keep hitting the fish until it has been defeated. Then head up the staircase on the right side of the room.
  • Unlock the block here and open the treasure chest to get the dungeon item, the Long Hook. Use it right away on the diamond in this room and go down a screen.
  • Swim over the black hole and head left a screen.
  • Swim left a screen and then up a screen. Go down the staircase found here.
  • Navigate your way through this side-scrolling area, using the long hook to get across the large gap. Go up the steps on the left side of the room.
  • Defeat the Rope and then use an ember seed with the seed shooter to get rid of the gopongo flower. Grab the small key and head down a screen.
  • Swim to the yellow tiles and resurface. Back at the 2nd floor, go up two screens, and right once.
  • Go back up the staircase here to reach the third floor once again.
  • Make your way through this floor just like before to get back to the Water-Level room. Step on the floor switch that is between the red tiles to lower the water level once again. Backtrack several screens and get back to the second floor.
  • Go down a screen and once again fall down the pit on the right side to get back to the first floor.
  • Go down two screens. Place a cane of somaria block on the floor tile at the top-right part of the screen. Then walk to the bottom-left of the screen and use the long hook on the diamond. Use the long hook on the pot and then walk on over to the diamond. Use the long hook on the diamond a few times so that it sits on the second floor tile. Open the treasure chest that appears and grab the small key. Exit the room to the right.
  • Go up a screen and use the cane of somaria on the floor tile. Go right a screen.
  • Go back up the staircase here to get to the second floor yet again.
  • Go up two screens, left a screen, use the long hook on the diamond, and head up a screen to get back to the third floor.
  • Go up a screen, left a screen, and step on the blue switch yet again to raise the water level. Exit back to the right a screen.
  • Use the long hook to get across the large gap at the top-part of the room and then head up a screen.
  • Unlock the block on the left side of the room and then head left a screen.
  • Go down a screen to get back to the Water-Level room. Step on the switch here and it will raise the water level to its highest point.
  • Backtrack by going up a screen, right a screen, and down a screen.
  • Use the long hook on the diamond and then head down two screens.
  • A new platform has risen. Use the long hook twice on the two diamonds and open the treasure chest to get another small key.
  • Jump off the ledge and head back up a screen.
  • Go down the steps and back track right a screen, and down two screens.
  • Continue swimming down a screen, left three screens, up a screen, and left a screen.
  • Use the long hook on the diamond and open the treasure chest to get a third small key.
  • Backtrack right a screen, down a screen, and right a screen.
  • Swim to the top-right corner of the room and use the long hook on the pots at the bottom-right of the screen. Go right a screen.
  • Continue backtracking right a screen, up three screens, left a screen, and up the staircase.
  • Go up a screen and use the long hook to get across the large gap and then head up a screen.
  • Avoid the enemies and head left two screens.
  • Defeat the enemies and the use one of the small keys and head through the locked door.
  • Open the treasure chest for a gasha seed and use a second key to go through the locked door.
  • Defeat the mini-moldorm and use the third key to get through the locked door.
  • Open the treasure chest to get the boss key. Use the long hook on the diamond and head back left a screen.
  • Go down two screens and then back down the staircase.
  • Go right a screen, down a screen, left a screen, and then swim down the pit.
  • Swim to the left side of the room and then head back up where the green tiles are.
  • Climb the steps, go right a screen, down two screens, left a screen, and through the locked door to take on the level boss, Plasmarine.
  • Swim around the room and wait for Plasmarine to attack, tossing an orb towards you. Use the long hook on Plasmarine to switch spots with him and Plasmarine will change color. The goal is to try to get Plasmarine's attack to hit itself. The attacks from blue plasmarine will harm the red plasmarine and vice versa. Just keep repeating this same process a number of times until plasmarine has been defeated.
  • Grab the heart container that is left for you and head left a screen.
  • Collect the Rolling Sea, t he 7th essence of time.
  • After a short cut-scene, you'll hear from the Maku Tree, but she doesn't know where the last essence is located. We'll tackle that in the next chapter.
