Back in 2011, Nintendo released on their new handheld system, the Nintendo 3DS, a long-awaited graphical remake of one of the most well-known, widely renowned titles in both Zelda and video game history: Ocarina of Time in glorious 3D. The remake was positively received by fans, both old and new, to see such a classic game return with new life in the updated environments that simply seemed to fit nearly perfectly with the world established back in 1998. Not long…

So, a lot of people have bought and received the Zelda Prima Guides Boxed Set.  As we all know, the boxed set is a limited edition and each one is numbered. I think it would be fun trying to gather ALL of the people who bought one to share their Certificate of Authenticity number. So in order for this to work, we will need everyone’s help in making the ultimate list! I’ll start with mine. As more people come forward,…

Well, today is the day. I just received my Legend of Zelda Boxed Set Prima Guides. It’s a rather large box weighing in at just under 23 pounds. Upon opening the box inside is another box. This is the box we really want! It is desigend to look similar to the many chests found throughout the Legend of Zelda series. Included in the boxed set are six hardcover books, each one pertaining to a specific game. They are: Skyward Sword, Ocarina…

After discussing nearly every other game in the franchise, we finally reach this legendary title, thanks to a request from ZD reader “Link and Zelda.” Ocarina of Time is commonly considered to be not only the best game in the series, but the best video game of all time, period. That’s a bold statement to make, but the N64 title surpassed expectations at the time and its revolutionary gameplay and design contributed to the advancement of the video game industry….

Many fans have been waiting for Prima’s Zelda guide box set since the very first reveal of it. Also included is a laser etched bookmark, an individually numbered certificate of authenticity, and a treasure chest case to top it all off. We are getting very close to the release of the set. That being said, more photos have been revealed. Check…

Is Navi really a pest?

September 21 2013 by Parker

“Hey, Listen!” Who could have predicted in 1998 that these two innocent words, articulated by a winged ball of light, would become the bane of countless Zelda fans? Yet besides Kaepora Gaebora’s notoriously long-winded speeches, the infamous catchphrase of Link’s fairy companion Navi is probably the most common points of criticism leveled at Ocarina of Time. Detractors claim her often-repeated exclamations are unbearable; her personality obnoxious. Not even Tingle is demonized to such an extent. When faced with such vocal and ingrained…

Despite high sales for Twilight Princess and popular online fan bases for games like Majora’s Mask, at the end of the day we all understand that Ocarina of Time is considered by and large to be the cream of the crop for Zelda experiences. The defacto Zelda game, even if you can point to older games that did it first.

It doesn’t really matter in the end what our personal preferences are in the series for this article, it’s only important that we understand that Ocarina of Time’s popularity and following, along with its recognition as one of the best overall games ever made, is an actual thing in the gaming universe.

Playing through Ocarina of Time, I was always curious about the boss of the Shadow Temple, Bongo Bongo, and the boss of the Spirit Temple, Twinrova. My curiosity was furthered by finding online theories for Bongo Bongo, and the final words that Twinrova leave Link with after he defeats them in the Spirit Temple. Like my editorial on Bunnio, this will be more interpretive, looking at possible backgrounds and futures of the characters, rather than analysing what the characters are…

Nudity, whether it be partial or brief, is not uncommon in the Zelda series. When nudity is depicted in a Zelda game, it is never overly explicit, thus, the ratings on any one game are not higher than they are. Though it is definitely present in the series, and it is not a new aspect, beginning as early as Link’s Awakening. This can be a somewhat controversial topic, as people all have very different ideas on what nudity adds or…
