Tier Force Heroes Rounds Out Dungeon Week Ranking Zelda’s Big Keys

Tier Force Heroes is back for 2023! Zelda Dungeon greats Gooey Fame, Corey Richmond, and Skull Kid Nico are here to end Dungeon Week right, ranking Zelda‘s Big Keys, whether for boss rooms, new dungeon levels, or item chests, found throughout the series.

Starting with The Legend of Zelda and wandering between different games in the series, the Tier Force Heroes crew examines each key’s pros and cons, from the sprite and official designs to the key’s utility and the way it ultimately accentuates or clashes with the game it hails from. Is the key shiny enough? Does it contain any skulls or eyes? Will it chomp your hand off? Is the key bigger than Link’s body? These are some of the most important determiners for which tier a key will ultimately belong to!

Throughout the ranking, Gooey, Corey, and Nico test their knowledge as to which keys belong to which games and how their use ultimately affects the gameplay — a difficult task when some keys look so similar and others are, honestly, a little forgettable. I personally really like the iconic Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker key designs, so I’d forgotten what many of these Big Keys look like!
