Boo Buddies are ghost enemies based on the Boo from the Mario series of games. They made cameo appearances in Link's Awakening like many other enemies from Super Mario Bros. series.
Appearance
There are only two Boo Buddies in this game, who are both located in the Bottle Grotto dungeon, and they guard the Power Bracelet. These ghost enemies are weakened when Link makes the room brighter, so he should light the torches in the room before fighting them. When the room is dark, the Boo Buddies will attack Link and follow him around the room. When the room gets brighter, they will turn black and slowly back away from Link.
If the room is completely dark, then only Link's Magic Rod or Bow will kill a Boo Buddy. It will take four arrows or one hit with the Magic Rod to defeat a Boo Buddy in the dark. If the room is dark, slashing them with Link's Sword will not harm them. Instead, they will blink, disappear, and reappear a few spaces away. The easiest way to take down a Boo Buddy is to light the torches in the room, then quickly slash them with Link's sword.
