I know what you’re thinking – man, they sure seem to post a lot about how Ocarina of Time is doing on the Wii U eShop charts. We hear you, but for some reason or another the game just won’t go away. While last week it finally lost out on it’s #1 ranking it held for 4 straight weeks to Child of Light, this week it still holds on to the #2 ranking. Why does this matter? Well, it doesn’t – sales in general don’t necessarily matter to fans – but for Nintendo it continues to show the strength of their 17 year old game. Child of Light fell from #1 to #7, while Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards took over the #1 spot.

At this rate, it’s highly likely that barring new game releases, Ocarina of Time could end up reclaiming the top spot again. I’m not sure who is still buying it and we can’t even be for certain just how many games are actually selling digitally on the Wii U eShop to begin with. Either way, the fact we’ve reached week 6 of availability and it hasn’t dropped below the #2 spot is something special. Maybe we’re helping sales this week given we just released an editorial about Kakariko’s Economy in Ocarina of Time. I know I haven’t picked up and have no plans to. Am I a bad Zelda fan for saying that? Ocarina of Time 3D for life.
