 | Agahnim - A wizard who was trusted by the Royal Family. He betrayed them and opened a gate to allow Ganon to enter the Dark World. Agahnim was a pawn of Ganons and was controlled by him.

 | Ganon - Evil thief whos goal is to have ultimate power over the land. Uses Agahnim to open a gate between the Light and Dark World. Wants to carry the evil of the Dark World into the Golden Land of the Light World.

 | Link - The main character in the game. He gets a telepathic message from Princess Zelda, and that is where the journey begins. Link uses many different different weapons and items, including the legendary Master Sword. Link eventually goes on to save Princess Zelda and Hyrule.

 | Link's Uncle - Loyal to the Royal Family. He is contacted the same day that Link is contacted telepathically by Zelda. He goes and tries to help out but is wounded and passes his sword and shield down to Link.

 | Royal Family - Controlled Hyrule but was betrayed by Agahnim. The King was vanishes and the Seven wise men were sent to the Dark World. Link eventually saves them and with their help he defeats Agahnim and Ganon.

 | Sahasrahla - A decendant of the seven wise men. He is a trusted man of Kakariko Village. He helps Link throughout his quest by communicating with him telepathically.

 | Zelda - The Princess of Hyrule who was captured by Agahnim. She telepathically communicates with Link to inform him of the problems at the castle. After Link saves Princess Zelda, Agahnim once again captures her and sends her into the Dark World. She is the 7th maiden and is located in Turtle Rock.
