A Soldier is a common enemy and weak enemy that has appeared in both A Link to the Past and Four Swords Adventures.
Appearances
A Link to the Past

In addition to Archers and Troopers, there are a variety of color variations and types of Soldiers in A Link to the Past. The weakest of these enemies are the mindless green soldiers that will patrol back and forth without making an attempt to attack Link. The Gold Soldiers are not actual enemies, but they are soldiers that have not yet been taken over by Agahnim's magic. They have no weapons but wield huge Shields. These are the very first soldiers that Link encounters in his quest, located on the outskirts of Hyrule Castle. They prevent Link from accessing much of the Overworld, and their primary purpose is to offer Link advice. They will tell Link how to use his Map, how to swing his Sword, and how to do other basic functions.
Ocarina of Time
Soldiers make in appearance in various parts of the world of Ocarina of Time. They are most prominently seen guarding the garden entrance to Hyrule Castle. Various units are positioned in Castle Town as well.
