The Six Sages are assumed to be immortal protectors of Hyrule. They have appeared in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, and received cameo appearances in A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker. During Ocarina of Time, LInk spends the second half of the game searching for the Six Sages, (in addition to breaking pots, searching for Heart Pieces, etc.) in order to break Ganondorf's power over Hyrule. Most of the sages are characters who are met before it is obvious that they are sages.
